Adults:
New England MMA & Fitness is a fight training gym for men and women of all skill levels. Our training program combines techniques with strength and conditioning. The full spectrum of what we do is blend boxing, kickboxing and submission grappling into what is commonly known as Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) or Ultimate Fighting. A well rounded fighter can survive on his or her feet or on the ground, and this is what we recommend for maximum effectiveness. You may however choose to just box, kickbox or just grapple, the choice is yours. We aim to teach and produce fighters and grapplers for competition based on a strict set of rules. We do not teach self-defense techniques for encounters on the street nor do we practice with weapons or anything of that nature.
We have split up classes into two major programs: Jiu-Jitsu and MMA.
In the Jiu-Jitsu classes we will learn wrestling, takedowns, positioning, arm locks, leg locks, chokes and more.
The MMA classes will combine many aspects of standup fighting (boxing and kickboxing) and also incoporate ground striking with jiu-jitsu.
At no point are you required to spar, although we recommend some sparring if you wish to grow in application and flow of your material. Sparring is always supervised. For those students looking for an extra challenge, we do have a competition team. It is possible to compete in Grappling or MMA / Ultimate Fighting events.
Kids:
For kids under the age of 14 we offer a MMA program that consists of striking, grappling and conditioning.
Kids over the age of 14 are allowed to participate in our adult classes for jiu-jitsu and MMA. It is up to the instructor's discretion as to whether the student is of physical maturity to participate in these classes.
